Retreats and Sesshin

The monastery provides tools, honed over the centuries, to clear the heart and mind and illuminate our life path.

These practical tools help relieve suffering in our own and others’ lives. They work to reveal our innate curiosity, ease, and joy.

These tools are made available through a wide variety of weekend retreats and our monthly meditation intensives (sesshin).

Weekend retreats may be led by a guest teacher which focus on various themes such as Transforming the Inner Critic, Writing and Poetry, Calligraphy and Zen Painting.

Sesshin are held 11 times per-year and are a fundamental part of our monastic training.

Retreats and sesshin operate at a level below our consciousness and begin to transform our habit patterns and attachments.

For a list of events at the monastery, please see the Calendar of Events.
